I like this look of the non-coloured version better 
but I think to make it appeal more you should make the vines thicker only because the text is thick by itself so it will correspond better and add more detail and blend the text + effect better to have it seem as one image because at the moment it is easily noticeable that they are brushes or renders
unless you were a bit crafty and illustrated it yourself ;D
